This material is based on what the dental industry uses for bonding teeth so it is quite strong and durable though not indestructible.  It starts out as a liquid in primary colors, white and black.

Custom colors can be mixed.  The liquid is then set into the carved or recessed areas of the ring and cured with a special blue light.  Once hardened, the inlays are wet-sanded and polished.
